Dear Members:
Our next event is at Chippewa Bowl on December 16th. We will again this year
be taking donations of non-perishable food goods and cash for the Food Bank
of Northern Indiana. Please bring donations the day of the tournament, no barrels
will be there ahead of time. Also, the invitations for this season’s Master’s
tournament in January will be mailed out shortly. If you (or someone you know
who is eligible) don’t receive your invitation by the December tournament
PLEASE let me know. Also, we are going to try an experiment at this event (and
maybe another later in the season)… a number of members have asked us
to try a “Senior Class”… so we are going to give it a try.
If you are age 50+ when you check in tell us you want to bowl in the “Senior
Class”. You will be removed from your regular class and placed in the
Senior Class, once done, you cannot opt back out. You will compete against the
other bowlers in the Senior Class using the standard +/- system, top 1/3 or
the class will make the cut, a minimum of 5 bowlers will be required or you
will be returned to your regular class.
This month’s tournament was held at Sturgis Bowl with 74 members. Thanks
to Mike Converse and his staff for hosting us. The prize fund was worth over
$3,100. Mike English won his second singles title.
